THE LITTLE PARIS BOOKSHOP by NINA GEORGE

I absolutely loved the cover, title and idea of this book and thought that I would enjoy reading it. I realized I had a problem shortly after beginning this book. I just could not get into it. I re-started the book several times and finally had to commit myself to finishing it.

Monsieur Perdu calls himself a literary apothecary. He prescribes novels from his floating bookstore on the Seine. Novels meant to mend broken hearts and souls. He uses his intuition in which to prescribe the right book for each person. However, Monsieur Perdu is battling his own demons. He to suffers from heartbreak. He was left by his great love years before with a word of goodbye. The only thing she left behind was a letter, untouched throughout the years.

I could not connect with the characters at all. I wanted to loved this book. Maybe it is just me. I normally prefer to read supernatural, romance and crime. But I saw the cover of this novel and fell in love with it. This is a book that I will add to my shelves just because I will try it again. This is the type of book that you want to keep trying to connect with. I received this book complimentary through Blogging for Books to review.

SOCIAL MEDIA KIT

I am a little excited about completing my social media kit. This is a first for me and it took some time to figure out how to do it and which program to use. It may not be very professional but it is mine and I am so pleased with the outcome.

ROBOT PROJECTION CLOCK with ALARM FEATURE

I would love for everyone to meet Rodney, the newest addition to our family. He is a Robot Projection Clock with an Alarm feature and projects images. He takes 3 AA batteries that are easy to install and my 6 year old loves him.

Please note: It says ages 5 and up on the box. But this is not a toy.

The Robot Projection Clock with Alarm feature comes with the clock, 3 AA batteries, instruction manual and a small Philips head screwdriver. It is easy to set up and only takes a few minutes. The easy to follow instructions walk you right through it. It has twin pivoting lenses on the top of his head that project images as well as time inside the image. Please note: The instruction manual says 3 AAA batteries, but the box says 3 AA. This product requires 3 AA batteries. This product does not come with an AC adapter but one is available for purchase.

I was going to try this product and then box it up as a Christmas gift for my child. That did not happen. I seriously needed my 6 year olds opinion. I set the date/time and then set the Alarm for 7 am. I let him choose the display he wanted for his ceiling. It has 4 options from which to choose. There is a butterfly, flower, pink heart and a moon and stars display. He choose the moon and stars. It  projects really nicely onto the ceiling. I was surprised at how bright it was considering the clock was on one side of the room but it projected to the other side. The distance from the clock to the image was about 8 feet. This is adjustable by moving his eyes. The projection comes from the left eye. Then the other eye projects the time into the center of the image. I opted not to project the time because that is the way he wanted it. I went back to turn the projection off after he fell asleep and it had shut off on its own, haha. That is an additional advantage to this alarm clock.

In the morning the alarm sounded at 7 am with a constant beeping noise. I got up and hit the alarm button and it immediately stopped. The instructions do not tell you how to turn off the alarm. But for me this is a no-brainer. I simply pressed the alarm off button on the front of the robot, simple. We have been using this product for 3 days without any problems whatsoever. It is still brightly lit up and running great.

In ending I have to say that this clock is a great investment as a child's first clock. It has a fun design and offers your child something that lets him feel like he is getting something out of it, besides it waking him up every morning. For my child it was a soothing experience as it gave him something to concentrate on as he was falling asleep. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I have to say that I love this hair care line by L'Oréal. Not only is my hair shinier and healthier but it no longer has any frizz at all. It did not take several days, weeks or months to start working. It started working on contact with the first use. I also loved the scent. It smells amazing and the scent stays with you all day long. I actually had someone comment on my "perfume" as I walked by her but I told her I wasn't wearing perfume. It was my shampoo, conditioner and serum. She did not believe me. I suppose everyone thought we were crazy when I let her sniff my hair. But I made a believer out of her. I have made the switch to this product line because I love it and I love the benefits.

JOHNSONVILLE BIG TASTE GRILL™ 2016 Tour

I was so excited to be able to be a part of the JOHNSONVILLE BIG TASTE GRILL 2016 TOUR.

Not only was I able to try one of their delicious brats but I got a free T-shirt for being a VIP as well. This massive grill turns out 2500 brats per hour and they taste so good. I love that Johnsonville is kicking off the 2016 season by inspiring us with brats.

The gentleman below was cooking up some tasty brats and I was lucky enough to get a birds eye view so to speak. Do these not look awesome?

Some local guys whom were working next door popped in to say hello and grab themselves a brat. That is what I loved most about this event. People standing around, chatting and taking a break from work with a brat in hand.

Matte Finish Eyeshadow, Alabaster

I found this eyeshadow to be very pigmented and it went on very smoothly. It is crease resistant and offered great coverage. It blended very well with my other eyeshadows and stayed on all day long. I loved the silky feel of this product as I applied it to my lids. I also loved the Alabaster color. It has Vitamins C and E to help provide antioxidant protection.

I applied this eyeshadow as a base for my other eyeshadows. But I noticed that it wasn't so light that it couldn't be worn by itself. It worked perfectly with my skin tone and made my eyes appear larger than they actually are.

Silk Cream Lipstick, Taffy

Antioxidant vitamins, rosehip, soybean, safflower oils, aloe and chamomile extracts make this lipstick a great addition to your makeup collection. This product is feather resistant and has great pigmentation. I loved the color of this lipstick. It went on smoothly and stayed on for several hours. This product would be great for the Spring and Summer months.

I used this lipstick after applying primer and a lip liner. I loved the feel as it glided smoothly on. It offered great coverage. I received these product free for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.

I applied Valentia Clear Lift Revitalizing Serum in the evenings after cleansing my face. I washed and dried my face and then applied the serum and let it dry. It took maybe a minute. I opted not to use other moisturizers or creams so that I could see and feel the full results of this product.

This serum has a light citrusy scent and looks like a thin lotion. This product is not greasy at all and absorbs into the skin very quickly.

It comes in a pretty brown bottle that has an elegant look. I am proud to display this bottle on my vanity. The pump is easy to use and allows you to distribute the product onto your finger evenly.

I loved the feel of this product as I applied it to my face. It went on smoothly and evenly without a greasy feel.

The citrusy scent was very pleasing as well. The scent was not harsh but very light.

 Valentia Clear Lift Revitalizing serum left my face feeling fresh and hydrated. My skin felt so smooth and soft. After a few days of use my complexion started to look brighter and my fine lines were less noticeable. I have now started using this product with a moisturizer but I like it without the added creams. I haven't noticed a huge difference with the added creams. I think this product stands alone. But I do realize that each person is different. Another person might need more moisturizing than I do.

I also love that this product is made in the USA, cruelty-free and includes organic and natural ingredients. I feel like I am doing great things for my skin by using this product.

MR SKETCH SCENTED WASHABLE MARKERS

Matthew and I loved Mr. Sketch Scented Washable Markers. These markers kept him entertained for hours. He loved the fact that they smelled so great and he would sniff them before each use. He did not like the licorice scented marker, but that is okay. The rest of them made up for that one.

They are brightly colored and make his artwork so beautiful. His pictures are brighter and bolder and stand out.

I love that these are washable. I had no trouble whatsoever in removing marks from his skin and his clothes. I didn't even have to add stain remover to his clothes. The marker also came off his skin with soap and water. These markers are better than all of the other brands I have ever tried.
