I have a new product addiction, a naturally moisture rich plant fiber sponge that balances the acidity of the skins oils and impurities. Introducing Konjac Facial Sponges.

Used by the Japanese for years, “Amorphophallus Konjac” the Konjac Potato is a perennial plant, native to Asia with wild forms growing naturally in many parts of China, Korea & Japan.  Frequently growing wild at high altitudes, thus being pure and pollutant free.  It was originally introduced to Japan as a medicine in the sixth century as it was recognized for its health giving properties.  But, for over a century, the Japanese have been using the konjac vegetable as a beauty treatment for their delicate skin.
The Konjac Sponge, made entirely from the root of the the Konjac Potato, it contains fibers that are by nature alkaline, and thus balances the skin’s natural acidity. These fibers are packed with nutrients. Including: Iron, phosphorus, copper, zinc, vitamins A, E and D, “B” vitamins 1, 2, 6 and 12, vitamin C and folic acid.

I have been using Konjac sponges for several months now and I seriously love them. They have become my favorite way of exfoliating and cleansing. Here is how I use them:

Before use, wet the sponge in warm water.

Gently massage the face and body in circular motion all over, to exfoliate dead skin cells, and deeply cleanse. Massaging will stimulate dead, tired skin and encourage skin renewal. Your favorite cleanser can be added but is not required. Also, by using this sponge, if you do decided to use a cleanser, do not use as much cleanser. You will love this as it is going to save you a ton of money in the long run.

Keep your sponge clean and hang it to dry. I made the mistake of leaving it laying on the side of the tub, not this one, but another one. It became jellied and nasty after a few days.

I started using these sponges after I had gotten sun burnt at our pool. I had started to peel and it was very irritating. After one use the dead skin had diminished. I have continued to use this sponge and my skin looks so much better.

I am also using this product on my face. My pores are shrinking because my face is so much cleaner. My face is blemish free and baby soft. Exfoliating has never felt so good. I love the feel of these sponges against my face. They are like a jelly once they are wet. I am also using a little dab of my favorite cleanser after the initial testing.
